Citizens Advice Bureau ACT logo Citizens Advice Bureau ACT (ACT)

The Citizens Advice Bureau of the ACT has been serving the Canberra community for over 25 years, building on the rich heritage of Citizens Advice Bureaus going back to 1939.

We believe that community services and facilities are only as effective as people's access to them. We believe that it is essential that people are made aware of their options, right and responsibilities, of the services and facilities available to them and that they are not penalised through an inability to locate these agencies, express their needs or advocate on their own behalf.

Extensive database of community service organisations.

Qnet (ACT)

Qnet online community is an initiative funded by Healthpact and project managed by the AIDS Action council of the ACT. The site was born out of a need for young same sex attracted people to have a safe place online to make links with like-minded people. We recognise the difficulties experienced by young queer people in an often homophobic world. Following the launch of Qnet in 2003, we are relying on the enthusiasm of our young queer community to maintain its course. Qnet is a non commercial enterprise built from the ground up by community members. We are always changing and we depend on the input from our community to ensure a happening relevant and cyberplace place is maintained.
