Sam Duncan
POCIS Sam Duncan joined the navy the tender age of 16 on June 29 1987 fresh from Wynnum High School in Brisbane. Joined as Signalman and later become a Communication Information Systems when the branch changed.

Career highlights include deployments on OP Damask/Op Slipper, assisting in humanitarian relief in Bougainville and Timor. Have been awarded the AASM with ICAT clasp. ASM with Kuwait, Bougainville and Timor Leste clasp, and Afghanistan Campaign medal.
Sam was promoted to LSSIG 30 Nov 1997 and then to POCIS 01 Jul 03. He has strong ties to the GLBT community in Sydney and is a volunteer for ACON and also a free lance photographer for the web site www.samesame.com.au.
Highlight of his time in Sydney would be a volunteer for the 2000 Olympics where he was a VIP driver.
