Melbourne Sexual Health Centre

Melbourne Sexual Health Centre (MSHC) is Victoria’s leading clinic for the testing and treatment of sexually transmissible infections. The doctors and nurses at MSHC are experienced specialists in all aspects of sexual health, so clients visiting MSHC can be assured of high quality professional and non-judgmental care. MSHC also provides support to community based health professionals via online resources and on-site education and training opportunities.

Minus18

Minus18 was established in 1998 to provide a safe space for the same sex attracted youth of Melbourne to meet new people and have fun, whilst also providing a safe way for them to explore the gay 'scene' in a drug and alcohol free environment. Minus18 dance parties have grown to an event which is unique throughout the world attracting in excess of 250 patrons each event. In addition Minus18 has become involved in the greater gay community of Melbourne giving this oft-forgotten segment of the community a voice.

MQFF – Melbourne Queer Film Festival

Melbourne Queer Film Festival (MQFF) is the largest queer film festival in Australia, the second largest film festival in Victoria, and one of the oldest queer film festivals in the world. We screen the best queer film from Australia and around the globe. Our mission is to become one of the top queer screen events internationally. The Festival first screened in 1991 and has continued every year since.

PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis)

If you thing that you have been exposed to HIV, PEP may prevent you from becoming infected. PEP is a month-long course of drugs that, if taken within 72 hours of the HIV virus entering the body, can prevent a person becoming infected with HIV. The PEP drugs are the same drugs that people who have the HIV virus use to reduce its impact on the body. For more information check out the web site.

PFLAG-VIC – Parents, Families and friends of Lesbians And Gays – Victoria

We are a group of parents, families and friends of gay, lesbian and bisexual people who meet once a month and offer support and friendship to families, particularly parents, and also to members of the GLBTI community who may need support in coming out to their families and friends.

Positive Women

Positive Women Victoria was established in 1988 by women living with HIV/AIDS. We are a support and advocacy organisation for women living with HIV/AIDS. In recognition of our members special needs we provide a safe and comfortable environment that is completely confidential.

This site provides information about HIV and strategies, which may prevent or reduce the risk of getting or passing on HIV. The best way to prevent getting or passing on HIV is to use condoms and water-based lube for anal sex.
