Squadron Leader Nathan White was appointed in the Royal Australian Air Force in January 2005. After studying a Bachelor of Technology (Aviation) at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra, Nathan completed his flying training graduating No 214 Pilots Course. Nathan was posted to No. 79 Squadron to fly the Hawk-127. Subsequent postings included Headquarters Air Mobility Group, No. 285 Squadron and the Air Mobility Control Centre at RAAF Base Richmond. In 2014, Nathan posted to RAAF Base Townsville to fly the Beechcraft Super King Air 350 at No. 38 Squadron. Nathan was deployed on multiple operations including being Detachment Commander for numerous operations including Operation QLD ASSIST 17, Support to the 2016 Federal Election Campaign, and Operation HANNAH: Australian Government support to the Papua New Guinea General Election in 2017. In 2018, Nathan was selected to fly the CL604 Challenger as a VIP Captain, and in 2019 became the CL604 Challenger Flight Commander at No. 34 Squadron. Nathan is currently a career manager at the Directorate of Personnel - Air Force, and in August 2021 will return to No 34 Squadron as the Executive Officer - flying Falcon 7X Special Purpose Aircraft.

Nathan became open about his sexuality in 2007 whilst at Basic Flying Training School. He found that acceptance and inclusion among his peers became easier the more he was able to be himself.

Nathan has been an active member of DEFGLIS since 2010 and was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2018. Elected as Vice-President in 2018, Nathan became President in 2019. Nathan's proudest moments in DEFGLIS are marching in Mardi Gras for the first time in uniform in 2013, being featured in the UNSW Facing Equality series in 2019, and leading the Defence and DEFGLIS entries in the 2021 Mardi Gras at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Nathan lives in the ACT with his partner Michael and enjoys food & wine, fitness and playing piano.
