Raye (pronouns they/ them) is currently appointed to Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) in Policy as a Public Servant.  Prior to this appointment Raye joined CASG as a graduate in 2016 and worked through the ranks of APS4 to EL1 through the Project Delivery Group.  Their roles have included stakeholder engagement (including international), gap analysis with solution recommendations, project management and leading high performing teams.

Prior to Defence, Raye worked in through opportunities from a filing clerk at a family business, to business manager and business consultancy over ten plus years.  Their journey including continuous learning  in business from TAFE to Bachelor, Grad Dip, and finally Masters in Project Management graduating during the pandemic. 

Raye joined DEFGLIS in 2017 when they came to Canberra (didn’t know about it before then) to participate in Mardi Gras. Then by 2020, Raye suggested monthly TGD online catchups, hosted by Riley Bradford, and we have never missed a month. Raye is ready to make more formal contributions to DEFGLIS. Raye has had previous experience with charities and boards.  They volunteered as a Coaching Coordinator for a Triathlon club.  Raye is also currently on the LGBTI Diversity Action Group in CASG and has already made strides, working to install permanent ‘all genders’ signage for CASG base bathrooms.   

When Raye does find spare time they enjoy continuing to participate in sport (running, walking and swimming) despite the challenges being non binary brings to competitive events, camping and country music.  

Raye has the ability to listen with compassion drawing on their many varied experiences, but as a ‘go-getter’ and fierce force for social justice, will be ready to provide potential solutions.  Reach out and let’s see where this journey takes us next.
