2017 09 03 Agreement

A new workplace remuneration arrangement for Australian Defence Force members that contains a six percent salary increase over three years is being prepared to be implemented when the current arrangement expires on 1 November this year.

Director Military Remuneration, Group Captain Jay Clarke said that the new deal was designed to be fair, reasonable and affordable. Most importantly, there would be no trade-off of conditions of service to fund the proposition.

2017 08 28 SupportA new Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy for Australian Defence Force personnel is due for release in October this year.

Air Vice-Marshal Tracy Smart is Commander of Joint Health and said that it was important that people seek help as early as possible for any mental health concerns they may have. 

"Defence has a wide range of mental health services available for current ADF members," said Smart.

A new website aims to improve support for wounded, injured and ill current and former Australian Defence Force personnel, their families and those who assist with their care.

Minister for Defence Personnel Dan Tehan launched the ‘Engage, Supporting Those Who Serve’ website on 11 August.

The website aims to simplify the process of finding and accessing free information, support and services. ‘Engage’ is part of the Support for Wounded, Injured and Ill Program that is a joint Defence and Department of Veterans’ Affairs initiative.
