Across Australia, Wear it Purple was celebrated by Defence members, to say that everyone can be very proud of who they are.
In Canberra, Defence’s LGBTI champions Vice Admiral Raymond Griggs, Vice Chief of the Defence Force and Richard Oliver, First Assistant Secretary People Services, gave a brief address on inclusion to the gathering.

Defence Pride, the Department's internal LGBTI and ally employee network, was re-launched at the event.

At the Australian Defence Force Academy, a new generation of leaders in the ADF held a breakfast and launched a new guidebook to help educate staff about sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex people.
