Bi Visibility Day, also known as International Celebrate Bisexuality Day, was created to highlight biphobia and help people to find the bisexual community. It is recognised and celebrated by more than forty countries across the world.

First observed in 1999 at the International Lesbian and Gay Association in Johannesberg South Africa, the concept for day attributed to three prominent American bisexual rights activists: Wendy Curry, Michael Page, and Gigi Raven Wilbur.

The New Zealand Defence Force's Sexual Ethics and Respectful Relationships training has won the Emerging Diversity and Inclusion category and the overall award at the 2018 Diversity Awards New Zealand.

The training was developed by the New Zealand Defence Force in 2017 as a preventative education initiative to help build a foundation for greater diversity and inclusion.

The Desert Memorial Parks’ LGBTI Veterans Memorial located in Cathedral City has been dedicated as the state’s official memorial for LGBTI veterans and is the first of its kind in the United States of America.

The legislation was introduced by Assembly member Eduardo Garcia who said that it was an honour to play a role in being able to help California continue to lead in equality and inclusion, and recognised the efforts since the early 2000's to accomplish this historic feat.
