UK Army LGBT Forum and DEFGLIS establish reciprocal membership arrangements

DEFGLIS and the UK Army LGBT Forum have recently entered into an arrangement that allows Australian Defence Force personnel working in the UK to join and participate in networking events. Through the UK Army LGBT Forum, ADF personnel can gain access to many similar services offered by DEFGLIS including: professional networking, peer-support and connections to the local LGBTI community in the UK.  Similarly, UK personnel that are posted to Australia will be eligible to join DEFGLIS which will ease the difficulty of settling into a new foreign posting.

"This arrangement is a positive step forward that improves support for LGBTI serving members that are posted for extended periods outside of their home country, " said Vince Chong, DEFGLIS Chair.  "I look forward to welcoming UK personnel into DEFGLIS and exchanging ideas that will improve diversity and inclusion in our respective Defence Forces."

Major Damian Jenkins, Chair of the Army LGBT Forum said "We are delighted to welcome any Australian Defence Force members working in the UK."

A link to the Army LGBT Forum is now available on the DEFGLIS website in the international resources section.
